The effects of intergenerational trauma, colonization, and genocide are numerous include higher rates health disparities such as substance use. purpose this research is to identify areas resilience empowerment in addiction recovery among Indigenous Peoples living Saskatchewan, Canada. Community approval was sought from the Research Advisory Committee network sampling used for co-researcher recruitment. Co-researchers included individuals sustained 12 months or more (n=5), Elders Knowledge Keepers (n=2), physicians (n=1). story-telling during one-on-one interviews with co-researchers via phone call. Thematic analysis resulted themes identified interviews. These systemic racism, gaps care, role physicians, care needs, confidence, family support, peer spiritual resilience, culture Elders, words advice. many including spirituality prayer, connection culture, traditional healing practices. Connecting peers members who have been through similar journeys creating long-term, trusting relationships also important recovery. Development treatment models should consider impact colonization on use integrate strengths-based approaches care. It may be useful methods improve Peoples.
